Lost to a girl? Or got absolutely clapped by your homie in front of the ladies? Want revenge? This blog aims to guide you in gaining strength in the sport of arm wrestling. Arm wrestling is a strength base sport that requires certain techniques. The main goal is to force the opponents down to the other side.

The 3 core functions that you must train is Rising, Cupping and Pronation.

Best Way to Win an Arm Wrestling Match

Rising ( Back Pressure )

It is the upward pull of the hand to break the opponents grips and gain leverage. If your rising is strong, it will reduce you opponents ability to apply pressure and weaken their wrist control.

The muscle involved in rising is the brachioradial forearm muscle. It can be trained with a simple hammer curl or a more advance technique with belt. Video below will further explain it more and show the steps to train if you have a belt and why you should use belt.

Cupping (Wrist Flexion)

Is the bending of the wrist inwards to control the opponents hand using your fingers. It reduces your opponents leverage.

Muscle involved in cupping is the wrist flexors and hands.

Pronation

Pronation is the rotation of the arm or hand inward. (Turning the hand downward) It helps countering the opponents grip.

If you successfully pronate your opponents hand, you will place them in a weaker position.

By training all these core functions in arm wrestling, you should be able to win in no time. Bicep strength also plays a role in an arm wrestling match. You can click here to learn how to strengthen your biceps.
