Abs are one of the most searched and trained muscle by beginners. As they progress they start to understand the inefficiency of training it. But to justify training it, some people may not have great ab genetics even when they are skinny such as myself. I’ve been skinny for a large portion of my life and I’ve always wanted abs because they signified “masculinity”. So I did crouches, planks and that one bicycle ab exercise.

Even with all these exercises, I barely grew my abs. There is always something you have to work for that people are naturally gifted with, this is how life works. But then I gave up training abs because I found it pointless to train. (I was focusing more on my arms, chest and back)
In this blog I’m going to show you how to perform an abs workout at home with no equipment needed. I will show you the only exercise that I do to gain abs at home. I’m starting to train abs because my theory is that when there is muscle there, then there will be less fat stored there as I’m facing a big belly problem right now.
Crunches
This exercise focuses more on the upper abs. You just need this exercise because your lower abs will be trained from running and your obliques should not be trained because it will make your physique look worse.
As you progress with crunches, you should start doing weight crunches. This will apply more hypertrophy to your abs, making it grow.
You can see how to perform weighted crunches here.
